How much should I expect to pay for baseball?
Let's try and brake this down on how a coach comes up with the fee they charge.
So, your child has joined Riverfront Baseball, and the coach has shared the team fee—how was that amount determined?
While fees may vary by team and age group, here’s a general example of how a coach might calculate costs (please note this is just an illustration and not necessarily what your child will be charged):
- Set of bases: $60
- Pitching rubber: $14
- Practice baseballs: $65
- Game baseballs: $115
- Uniform (jersey and hat): Approx. $90 (will vary)
- Umpire fees (based on 11U for 15 games): $600
- League fee (based on 11U): $300
Total estimated cost: $1,244
If the coach has 12 players, that cost would be divided evenly:
Estimated fee per player: $104
- Again, this is just an example. Each coach sets their own budget based on team needs, age group, and number of players.
Keep in mind that each coach may need to purchase a few additional miscellaneous items.
Each coach has their own preferences when it comes to equipment used during practices and games, so it's important to factor those extra costs into the overall cost.
